​​🎃 Haunted Bookmobile Bash Come and join us from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Oct 27 for Halloween fun at Big Grove Iowa City! Activities will include a Haunted Bookmobile walk through, jumbo yard games, sensory station, pumpkin activity, face painting, photo backdrop, and popcorn & candy! Big Grove Iowa City is providing free drink tickets for beer and nonalcoholic drinks for folks that attend. 🚜 Move it! Dig it! Do it! The Iowa Children's Museum is hosting their biggest outdoor event of the year. Grab your hard hat and take an up-close look at large construction equipment, big trucks, and emergency vehicles! Please join us for games, activities, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes on Oct 6 from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Our Antelope Lending Library bookmobile will be parked just outside the museum in the Coral Ridge Mall parking lot. 

📖 Read Banned Books: Get Rad Tattoos (A fundraiser for Antelope Lending Library) Antelope Lending Library and Velvet Lotus Tattoo are partnering together once again on Sept 28 from 11:00 am-7:00 pm for a tattoo flash event. We're celebrating Banned Book Week (Sept 22-28, 2024)! With a monetary donation, participants will be able to choose a design at the event created by tattoo artists (sneak peeks will be posted in the discussion thread of our Facebook Event). The bookmobile will also be on-site in the Velvet Lotus Tattoo parking lot offering all-ages activities from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

🍎 Back to the Classroom Second Saturday Sale Everyone is welcome to shop at our Back to the Classroom Second Saturday Sale on Sept 14, with a special $5 sale for educators of any kind to take as many books as they'd like. Join us on the second Saturday of each month, April through October, from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at 1122 5th Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240, to find your next great read! Items are individually priced between 50¢ to $2, or fill a bag for $25. The sale will include kid’s books, young adult books, adult books (fiction & non-fiction), comics, games, puzzles, and Antelope merchandise. All proceeds to go to support fees-free library services at Antelope Lending Library.
